I am a scuba diver, a climber, a dancer and a passionate traveller...and I love to photograph in all these environments, to various degrees. I am not a professional photographer and not aiming to be.  When you take a lot of photos it just seems nice to have a portfolio, something for others to get a taste of what you like to photograph, and a means of appreciating your own progress over time.

I picked up my first digital SLR back in 2006 and like most people, went rather snap-happy initially.  I was later awarded a Licentiateship from the Royal Photographic Society in 2016.  Although I no longer wish to dedicate my finances to continuous upgrade in photography kit, or sit for hours learning how to edit photos better (which I know I should do), I still enjoy taking photos, particularly when I travel or I'm out with nature.  Wildlife photography gives me the biggest buzz.  I should probably add that taking studio-type photos of people gives me the least (have you ever had an animal complain about how it looks in your photo?) That said, I do appreciate travel photography of people, something I'd love to be able to do more of. 

My current fascination lies in the underwater world.  Requiring different skills in a challenging environment, it is where I hope to improve the most right now. Raising awareness of how beautiful and fragile our oceans are could not be more crucial or current.  In the meantime I hope others continue to enjoy my photos.  Being able to inspire others through my travel and wildlife experiences, no matter how small, has always been the biggest reward in photography for me.
